The guidance department provides counseling and supportive help to enable all students to develop to their fullest potential through a positive school experience. We recognize the unique needs of middle school adolescents and strive to meet those emotional, social, and academic needs.
An emphasis is placed during certain times of the year on making students more aware of career opportunities. Individual or small group conferences are held with all students to help with transition.
In addition to individual counseling, the guidance department also provides some small group counseling support. The groups focus on self-awareness, trust, decision-making, and information sharing in a safe and caring environment. A variety of groups are offered, including coping with loss, family concerns, social skills, and anger management. Groups are also put together based current concerns. Students that are interested in joining a group should contact a counselor for more information.
Students that need to see a counselor should get a pass form their teacher and report to the office.
