Things to consider when choosing a career pathway...
- Your passion -- what excites you, makes you happy, etc. (Sometimes your passion doesn't come from your career and sometimes comes from things you do during your free time, but sometimes what you are passionate about can lead you to a career).
- Your skills -- what are you good at already?
- Your personality -- Are you more introverted or extroverted?
- Your values -- What personal convictions do you have?
- Options out there and career outlook. - Look at US Bureau of Labor Statistics for career outlook.
- Location you want to live -- Can you do the career you want in the place you want to?
- Lifestyle you want to have -- Does salary matter? Do work hours matter? Do you want to work at home or to travel?
- Education required to complete the career.
