Ken Kaiser, class of 1972, participated in basketball, track, and football during his high school career at Burlington High School.
On the basketball court, Ken was an integral part of the 1971 and 1972 Southern Lakes Conference Championships teams. During his junior year, he earned team MVP honors, All-Conference honors, Standard Press 1st team accolades, and the team won a Regional Championship. As a senior, Ken was named All-Conference, Conference Player of the Year, Honorable Mention Associated Press team, Racine Journal 1st Team, All-Area Player of the Year, and the team repeated as Regional Champions. As a member of the Demon football team his senior year, he set a school record as a quarterback for throwing 7 touchdown passes in one game. That football team was one of the more successful teams in Burlington football history, led by Kaiser and fellow Wall of Fame honorees Bill Kazmaier, Mark Harlow and Coach Don Dalton.
Upon graduation, Ken attended the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and was a 4-year letter-winner for the basketball program. His teams at Eau Claire were two-time WSUC Conference Champions. Individually, Ken started 72 consecutive games for the Blugolds and was named team captain for the 1975-1976 squad. Ken was named WSUC All-Conference, All-NAIA District 14, Team MVP, and WSUC Conference MVP in 1976. He was named a two-time Academic All-American and in 1975 was named the Emil S. Liston National Junior Student Athlete of the Year. For his career at Eau Claire, Ken scored 1,050 points and grabbed 670 rebounds. His career high game included 34 points and 18 rebounds. In 1989, Ken was inducted into the UWEC Blugold Hall of Fame.
Ken graduated from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire with a major in Mathematics, summa cum laude, and obtained his MBA from Marquette University, summa cum laude. Ken is currently the Vice President of Delivery Services for the Target Corporation, living in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. Ken and his wife Mary are proud parents of three sons Jay, Lee and Noah.
