Earning College Credit While Attending BHS
Our students can earn dual credit while never leaving the high school by enrolling in Advanced Placement classes, transcripted courses, CAPP, PIE, or VANguard programs. Students may also enroll in Start College Now and the Early College Credit Program, as allowed by the state of Wisconsin, to earn credit at a college campus while still enrolled as a student in BASD. For each college credit earned, students will receive .25 credit towards graduation requirements for Burlington High School.
The rigor and focus of these courses can be an educational benefit to those who enroll and meet the expectations of the classes. Students and parents/guardians should be aware that if a student receives a failing grade or fails to complete a course at an institution of higher education for which the school board has made payment, the parent or guardian (or student if he/she is 18 years of age) is required to reimburse the school district the amount paid by the school board on the student’s behalf.
