Hello! Let me introduce myself. My name is Julie Bellante and this is my thirteenth year teaching at Cooper. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, Pre-K through sixth grade, from UW-Whitewater.
This is my twenty-sixth year in the Burlington Area School District. I started out my career teaching first grade and I loved teaching young children how to read. I taught first grade for about thirteen years when an opportunity to teach second grade came my way. Second grade is an exciting year for children as they move from learning to read, to reading to learn. It is very fulfilling to watch as they grow into "Big Time Readers"! Teaching young children has always been my passion.
My husband, Joe, and I live in Wind Lake, and we have one teenage son, a dog, and a cat. We love small-town living and everything this area has to offer.
I look forward to a productive and positive year with your child. If I can assist you in any way, please contact me at school; I can be reached from 7:30-8:00 or 3:30-3:45. Otherwise, you can reach me through a written note or email. I am very excited about this school year and I look forward to getting to know you and your child better!
